Intercessions

 

We pray to you Father,
in the name of the Son, by the power and inspiration of Your Holy Spirit.

Lord God we pray for those within this church

  • Within this church there are people hurting
  • Within this church there are people seeking guidance
  • Within this church there are people struggling with their faith
  • Within this church there are leaders who need your help and support
  • Within this church there are people who are lost.
  • Within this church there are people who are broken.
  • Within this church there is a Church Council that needs Your wisdom

We pray that you will bless all of us,
that you will touch all of our lives and bring peace among us.

Lord God we pray for those in our community here in Luton -
those within sight of this church.

  • Within sight of this church there is a child neglected or abused.
  • Within sight of this church there is an elderly person who is alone.
  • Within sight of this church there is someone suffering from an addiction or obsession
  • Within sight of this church there is someone who is the victim or perpetrator of a crime
  • Within sight of this church there is a refugee who has fled a life of turmoil
  • Within sight of this church there is someone who is physically unable to live a normal life
  • Within sight of this church there is someone who is homeless
  • Within sight of this church there is someone who is lost
  • Within sight of this church there is someone full of hate and malice

Lord God, you know all of these people individually.  We lift up their needs to you,
and pray for those agencies and individuals that bring them support.

Lord God we pray for our World - those who are beyond our horizon -
but are within Your sight.

  • Within Your sight there is a child dying for want of a glass of water
  • Within Your sight there are men dying due to the futility of war
  • Within Your sight there is a woman dying for want of basic medication
  • Within Your sight someone is losing their home due to global warming
  • Within Your sight fish and animals are dying due to pollution
  • Within Your sight someone is being persecuted because of their faith
  • Within Your sight thousands are imprisoned unjustly
  • Within Your sight hundreds of thousands are suffering in refugee camps
  • Within Your sight millions are starving

Lord God, you know all of these situations.  We ask you humbly to intervene,
and inspire those blessed with power and authority to do what is just and right. 
Bless the peacemakers, those who bring relief and aid, and heal Your suffering world.

Lord God, we pray for those suffering in body, mind or spirit -
those within Your healing.

Lord, we entrust all those who are suffering to your merciful kindness that the hurt will be comforted, the broken will be healed and the distressed will find peace.  Give wisdom and compassion to all who tend to their needs and care for them.

Lord God, we pray for those who are within Your loving arms, and those left behind in grief and sadness, who mourn the loss of a loved one.

Lord, it is within your power and will to bring peace and comfort and so we entrust to you all who are mourning that you will lift the sadness and restore the joy of life in the sure hope of eternal salvation - through Jesus Christ our Lord.
