History>

Born in Leeds in 1949, David left school at 15 and trained as a Painter and Panel Beater. He is married to Janet (with whom he is pictured)  and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. At that age of 36 he became a Christian and his home church, ‘Idle Holy Trinity’ church in Bradford is an Evangelical/Charismatic Church.  One year later he had a call from God and after much prayer applied and was accepted into the Church Army.  In 1989 after 3 years of training he was commissioned as a Church Army Captain and took up his first post in Chester working as a community evangelist/youth worker working with people with Drug problems.  In 1993 he left Chester for South Wales where he worked as the Diocesan Evangelist for the Monmouth Diocese for the next 12 years.  During this time he was ordained in 1999 and was also involved in 2 church plants -  one a church on a local council estate and the other a youth church. In 2005 he left South Wales for Cyprus for a year as Assistant Chaplin in Paphos before - in 2006 - taking up the post of Rector of Christ Church Luton. He is a long standing supporter of Greenbelt, and the people and teaching he has received there have greatly influenced his life and ministry. He strongly believes that we are all called to be ‘Children of God’ ' the beloved' and that we all are made for a deep relationship with God through Jesus his son, and the journey to get there is what Christians call Discipleship and has many paths.  At Christ Church we aim to help and support all people on that journey.

Stop the WAR.

up date:

as we all know the war in Libya is coming to a end however the future of Libya is still unknown i have just come back from Cyprus and while there i read of the problems in Iraq the Church is facing.  A Chruch that under the last rulers was safe and protected is now not,  Many 100s of Christians have been killed and the churches bombed out there as in most of the middle east the wars go on and while our country supports the wars we will never have real pleace. lets pray it stops soon.
